A Horrific Crash Shocks Perth's North: A Man's Life hangs in the Balance
On Wednesday afternoon, a devastating incident unfolded on Reid Highway in Perth's northern suburbs, leaving a man fighting for his life and two others in critical condition. The crash, involving a FedEx truck and two cars, has left the community in shock and has caused significant disruptions to the area.
According to 9News Perth helicopter footage, one of the vehicles may have veered through the bushland median strip, entering the path of oncoming traffic. This tragic event occurred around 12.55 pm near Alexander Drive in Dianella, as confirmed by a WA Police spokesman.
The spokesman stated, 'Emergency services, including St John WA and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, are currently at the scene. One person has sustained critical injuries. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.'
St John Ambulance dispatched five crews to the scene, rushing two men, aged in their 50s and 20s, to Royal Perth Hospital. A female child was also taken to Perth Children's Hospital at normal road speed. Another man remains at the scene, suffering critical injuries.
Reid Highway westbound between Malaga Drive and Alexander Drive in Dianella is currently closed. Emergency services are still on-site, and Main Roads is urging motorists to steer clear of the heavily congested area.
