The FWICE reached out directly to the major OTT platform hosting this anticipated release, following a wave of criticism aimed at the project's trailer. Initial reports from IANS reveal that 'Ghooskhor Pandat' has sparked considerable backlash since its trailer debut. FWICE articulated their stance clearly in a formal statement, expressing, "FWICE and all its affiliated associations vehemently object to this title, as it seems to single out a specific community and derogatorily reference their traditional livelihoods. Such a title risks offending sentiments, fostering misunderstandings, and disrupting societal harmony."
Furthermore, the organization emphasized that there should be no divisions based on caste, creed, religion, or profession. They powerful noted, "As a significant medium of expression, the film industry holds a moral and social obligation to ensure that its content, including titles, does not incite hatred or disrespect among citizens. We urge all producers to refrain from allowing any film titles that could be deemed provocative and capable of stirring unrest within the Indian populace."
Condemning the project’s title, they urged the production house to rethink its choice without delay. Compounding the issue, a legal case has been filed in the Delhi High Court, with numerous individuals alleging that the title specifically targets the Brahmin community, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing discourse.
