Major Riga hospital tightens visitor rules amid flu season
Today, 9:36
During the current flu outbreak, Riga East Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS) has imposed visiting restrictions starting December 9, as announced by RAKUS.
Anyone showing symptoms of an acute viral infection—such as a cough, sneezing, runny nose, or a fever—will not be allowed to visit patients. Only one visitor per patient is permitted at a time. Outerwear is not allowed inside the wards, and visitors must wear face coverings while in the hospital.
Because visits are limited, families can still deliver essential items to patients by bringing parcels to the hospital. The hospital staff at the patient’s inpatient department will handle the receipt and delivery of these packages.
