Breaking News: Alexey Vermeulen Secures a Career-Defining Deal with ENVE!
This is huge for the US gravel racing scene! Alexey Vermeulen, just a week away from kicking off his 2026 season at RADL GRVL in Australia, has just announced a monumental career-long contract extension with ENVE components. This partnership will provide unwavering support throughout his racing career and transition into athlete development.
But here's where it gets interesting: Vermeulen's journey with ENVE began in 2021. After transitioning from road racing, he found his niche in off-road gravel racing. In his debut year, he impressively finished in the top 20 at Unbound Gravel 200. This extension solidifies a successful partnership, but also paves the way for a new chapter.
"One of the big things I feel like that I've that they've utilized me for a lot is athlete development. The conversation post-career has been a lot toward the development of athletes more than product," Vermeulen shared, hinting at more exciting news to come in March.
And this is the part most people miss: Vermeulen's focus isn't just on racing; he's deeply invested in the future of gravel cycling. He recognizes the changing landscape, with established racers in their 30s, like Keegan, Matt Beers, and Russell Finsterwald. He sees the future in the younger generation and is eager to nurture talent from as young as 18 years old.
Vermeulen's upcoming schedule is packed. He's heading to Australia for RADL GRVL p/b Quad Lock on January 23rd in McLaren Vale, marking his first bike race there since the Tour Down Under in 2017. Following that, he'll return to the US to compete in The Mid South and Valley of Tears, gearing up for his fifth Life Time Grand Prix, which begins on April 16th in Monterey, California, at the Sea Otter Classic.
